Biography

Hey Guys, my name is Ame, and I’m the coach and owner of Sabertooth Fitness Company.

I’m 45, happily married for 20yrs, and a Mom of 2 teens ages 16 & 18. I got married at 23 weighing close to 225lbs, eventually topped out at a few pounds shy of 260lbs in 2006. In an effort to lose weight I tried every diet out there, while most did make some weight come off it would always come back the second I stopped whatever diet I was doing. The worst part was always gaining more weight back than what I had lost. I didn’t see any real progress or sustainable weight loss until I started lifting weights back in 2017. Let me tell you, I was 37 in 2017 and very uncomfortable around weights and barbells. I was a “give me the treadmill or elliptical kind of gal” and I’ll be on my way thank you very much!

My husband eventually dragged me over to the weight lifting section with all the guys and I realized there was nothing to be afraid of. In fact, I LOVED lifting weights. I loved not constantly choking for a breath like I was doing cardio.  I loved the feeling of being strong, the idea of looking strong and I never looked back. Every day in the gym was a new challenge, a game even. How much can I lift today? Lifting weights changed my body in ways I didn’t know was even possible. This whole time I was doing it all backwards trying to lose weight instead of trying to just gain muscle.

Lifting led me to powerlifting (barbell back squat, bench press and deadlift strength competitions) and I competed in my first meet at 39yrs old which only cemented my love of health and fitness further.

I now currently hold 3 NASM certifications:

CPT (Certified Personal Trainer)

CNC (Certified Nutrition Coach)

GPTS (Group Personal Training Specialist)

I am passionate about helping other people find their love of fitness and transform into their best selves thru strength and nutrition coaching.
